MyGitNotes

AI agent adoption and integration

Give AI agents your knowledge base, and keep every change they make.

MyGitNotes lets AI agents read and write a company knowledge base through MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard for connecting AI tools to data. The knowledge base is a Git repository, so every agent edit is a commit: reviewable, comparable, reversible.

The MyGitNotes MCP

One MCP server, in the cloud or on your own machine.

It works on the notes repository directly: list, read, search and edit notes, and commit each change.

Hosted

In the cloud

app.mygitnotes.com gives each repository an MCP endpoint over Streamable HTTP, for agents such as ChatGPT connectors, from anywhere.

Open source

On your own machine

The open-source edition runs the MCP server locally over stdio next to a local checkout, for Claude Desktop or Codex. The knowledge never leaves the machine.

Self-hosted

Inside your network

Self-host on your servers and keep the MCP endpoint behind your firewall.

Built for agents you can trust with real documents

Named access for each agent

Read-only or write, with its rejections visible, revocable on its own.

Every edit is a commit

Multi-file changes share one commit, reviewed and reverted together.

Guarded writes

Writes check the agent read the latest version, refuse paths outside the notebooks, and never force-push over others’ work.

Tools that fit notes

List notebooks, search by topic, read frontmatter only, edit by line, and spend less context finding things.

Instructions in the repository

Agent instructions are files too, versioned like everything else.

Undo is just Git

If an agent gets it wrong, revert its commit. The rest of the history stays as it was.

Questions and answers

What is MCP?

MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets AI applications connect to tools and data. MyGitNotes provides an MCP server, so any MCP client can work with your knowledge base.

Which AI tools can connect?

Any MCP client. The hosted endpoint uses Streamable HTTP, for example ChatGPT connectors; the local server uses stdio, for example Claude Desktop or Codex.

Can an agent change documents without anyone noticing?

No. Every change is a commit with its diff in the history, and it can be reverted.

Can we limit an agent to reading?

Yes. Each grant is read-only or write, and each can be revoked on its own.

Does our knowledge leave our network?

Not if you self-host. Only what your agent sends to its model provider leaves, and you choose that provider.
